We firmly believe in taking our time when planning Special Make Ups with our brand partners. This means a painstaking amount of thought and research goes into every single design we submit to Alden. Because of the amount of time we put into SMUs and the high-volume demands challenging Alden's small-batch production methods, it has taken over a year of planning to get our 5th collab boot--and to nearly coincide with our 5th year anniversary coming up in November!

The Pike is named for the famous historic Pike district located right down the bluff from SOP. In its heyday, it was knows as "the walk of a thousand lights," complete with amusement rides, arcades, live theater, and a dense collection of tattoo shops supported by sailors on leave due to its close proximity to the long-gone naval shipyard. Think Boardwalk Empire on a larger scale in The Pike's glory days.

The Pike has experienced a lot of ups and downs, and, even in the six years we've lived here, we've seen it transform, yet again, from a ghost town of empty retail spaces into a booming shopping/ tourist district. During this time of intense revitalization in our city, it feels like the right time to honor the past meets present in our own way.
