Ralph Lauren launched the first full Polo menswear collection in 1968, and, in the years following, expanded to include womenswear, home goods, children's apparel, and fragrances.  First appearing on women's shirting in 1971, the Polo Pony logo became an iconic aspirational emblem reaching far beyond the elite and fashion conscious.  The Ralph Lauren Polo Shirt skyrocketed into mainstream and streetwear culture during the 1980s and 1990s and remains one of the most recognizable and ubiquitous pieces in fashion history.
