We selected NAN, a national civil rights non-profit organization with chapters across the U.S., for their 30 year history of advocacy for racial equality and justice spanning numerous socio-economic, political, and legal areas--including criminal justice reform, crisis and victim services, police accountability, voting rights, youth leadership and much more. During COVID-19 crisis, NAN has partnered with community members and other organizations to distribute masks and supplies to those in need and to help feed seniors and needy families. The Los Angeles NAN chapter just partnered with an international non-profit helping to keep small restaurants in business to provide 1500 meals this week alone.
In the middle of a pandemic, record unemployment, and an active civil rights movement, we hope to continue to help support efforts to address inequality and injustice. While we haven't historically been so vocal about what causes we're supporting, we don't think it is appropriate to do so quietly anymore. For a small business in an industry that touts transparency and ethics, it's our responsibility to our customers to share our position and what your support is also supporting.
